Welcome to Wilkinson County Schools! Located in Irwinton, Georgia, we serve over 1,100 students from Pre-K through 12th grade. Irwinton, GA – The Wilkinson County Board of Education (WCBOE) intends to opt out of House Bill (HB) 581, also known as the Floating Homestead Exemption Act, for the Wilkinson County School District. In an effort to ensure transparency and provide an opportunity for public input, WCBOE invites all community members to participate in upcoming public hearings.

The Wilkinson County Board of Education has proposed a 9.14% increase in the 2024 millage rate, resulting in a new rate of 18.750 mills. This marks a reduction from the current rate of 19.681 mills but is an increase above the proposed rollback rate. Citizens are invited to participate in public hearings regarding this tax increase, scheduled for January 31 and February 10, 2025, at the Wilkinson County Schools Auditorium in Irwinton, GA.
As September comes to a close, Wilkinson County Schools proudly acknowledges the generous donation of art materials from Keris Kares.

Our program is designed to support academic success and personal growth with activities focused on homework help, reading and math, and STEM enrichment
