Our 2nd-grade afterschool students put learning into action as they explored how wind and water can shape the world around us. Students designed and built their own windmills, then tested how the wind could make them spin. A hands-on way to connect science, creativity, and real-world energy concepts all in one activity! 💨⚙️

This morning, we proudly gathered to celebrate the GRAND OPENING of our school-based health center, the WARRIOR WELLNESS CENTER! 👏 After countless planning meetings and necessary collaboration with our partners at Community Health Care Systems, Inc., we cut the ribbon on our doors! Special thanks to Carla Belcher, Monique Howard, and the entire staff at CHCS, and to Dr. Johnson of the Georgia Department of Education for coming to share in this momentous occasion with us!
We also pause to recognize student representative Zaliyah Rogers; school board members, past and present; mayors of Irwinton, Gordon, and Toomsboro; the Wilkinson County Development Authority; the Wilkinson County Sheriff's Office; and all other stakeholders. Thank you for joining us!
The Warrior Wellness Center will increase exposure to healthcare in the area for our students and families. To learn more or to sign up, please visit https://www.wilkinson.k12.ga.us/page/wellness-center

Update: Wilkinson County Schools will be closed today out of an abundance of caution due to weather conditions. Parent-teacher conferences scheduled for today will be rescheduled. Schools will share new dates soon.

Due to anticipated weather conditions during peak commute times on Monday morning, Wilkinson County Schools will operate on a delayed start for staff, with employees reporting at 10:00 a.m. Families who have spring conferences scheduled before 10 am may choose to reschedule by contacting the school’s main office. We appreciate your understanding as we take this precaution to support safe travel conditions for our staff.
