
We are thrilled about our district partnership with the Georgia Youth Science & Technology Center (GYSTC)! Ms. LaTrina Howell, GYSTC Regional Coordinator, shared an overview of the incredible resources and materials available to support our teachers during our last faculty meeting. A big thank you to our office staff for providing refreshments, and we look forward to welcoming Ms. Howell back later this month for additional support!





Dr. Rose-Brown, Dr. Geter, and Mr. Dennis led professional learning sessions for our grade-level and department teams. At WCMS, we’re committed to growing and learning together!






Our seventh graders are hard at work mastering the concepts of computing and analyzing measures of central tendency, whether independently or in collaboration with their teacher! Their dedication and focus are truly inspiring!



Principal Choice met with eighth grader Caylee to discuss her goals for the second semester, and she did an amazing job explaining how she plans to "shoot her shot" for success. Weekly progress reports are sent home to keep students and families informed, and conferences like these highlight our commitment to student growth. At WCMS, student conferences are a vital part of teaching, learning, and achieving goals together!

🔔 Important Weather Update - School Closure
In response to the winter weather advisory, all schools will be closed on Friday, January 10, for students and staff. Learning will continue asynchronously for all teachers and students.

Today, on National Law Enforcement Appreciation Day, we want to express our heartfelt gratitude to Deputy Steele for her unwavering dedication to keeping our school safe. Your daily support of our students and staff makes a lasting impact and we are so thankful for your commitment to our community.


Ms. Williams and Mr. Lane facilitate small groups during Increased Learning Time (ILT) to help students deepen their understanding of linear equations. Small group instruction allows targeted support, fosters collaboration, and ensures students receives personalized feedback to enhance their learning experience.



Our student scholars are engaged in learning about ecosystems in Ms. Little's class. Students are working in peer groups and are also confident peer teachers! We are expanding horizons, empowering minds, and excelling together.



Mrs. Choice led an insightful professional learning session with staff, sharing strategies to reduce and eliminate teacher and leader burnout. Balancing professional and personal lives is essential for educators to bring their best selves to the classroom and positively impact their students.







Dr. Judith Geter and Dawn Howell from Oconee Regional Educational Service Agency (RESA) led an engaging and meaningful professional learning session on high-leverage practices, focusing on Classroom Rituals and Routines and Explicit Instruction. The session was relevant and impactful, providing valuable strategies for enhancing classroom success. Professional growth is essential for empowering educators to create positive and effective learning environments!







Shoutout to our sixth grade scholars who achieved perfect attendance for the first semester of school! Thank you for showing up every day and making the most of your learning opportunities---way to go!


Mrs. Larkin, dedicated para educator, led a powerful professional learning session for staff, highlighting the importance of data talks with students, how to conduct them, and the benefits they bring to student growth. Teachers as lead learners create a culture of growth, and providing professional learning opportunities empowers both the facilitator and those receiving the training. At WCMS, we believe in the mantra: "Each One, Teach One!"
