Seventh graders are starting their day off by making the most of their Increased Learning Time! In ELA, students strengthen their reading comprehension and practice citing textual evidence. In Math, students are increasing their numerical reasoning through Freckle and Progress Learning while Mr. Coats and Mr. Whipple provide instructional support and guidance. In Science, students are reviewing previous topics in Progress Learning, working to increase their green dots individually and as a grade level. In Social Studies, students practice reading informational texts and writing responses objectively.

8th Grade Science (Daniel & Peters) – Students excelled in applying Newton’s Laws of Motion, analyzing real-world scenarios and explaining their reasoning.



8th Grade Social Studies (Cabiness & Peters) – Students were empowered to take ownership of their learning through a Jeopardy-style review and accountable discussions.



6th Grade Math (Jones) – Students expanded their understanding of the coordinate plane using peg boards to plot points with precision.




Eighth grade baseball players played the last home game of their middle school career today! We are super proud of each of them and can't wait to cheer them on at the high school level! 💙💛💙💛

Ms. Franklin and Mr. Ashley team up to show students how to use literary devices like irony, humor, and personification to enhance their writing. Students worked in groups to create and perform skits showcasing their literary devices, with the audience identifying and explaining the literary device used after each performance. Engagement and application are key to making learning fun and meaningful!





Eighth graders are making the most of Increased Learning Time (ILT)! In ELA, they're strengthening their narrative writing skills, while in math, they're spiraling back to practice solving systems of equations algebraically. In Social Studies, they're tackling lessons in Progress Learning and in Science, they're mastering the differences between speed, velocity, and acceleration. It's the fourth quarter and we are committed to finishing the year strong at WCMS!






As a reminder, Professional Learning Monday will be held tomorrow, March 24. All students will be dismissed early, with Primary/Elementary dismissal at 1:00PM and Middle/High at 1:15PM.
