Wilkinson County Schools is proud to welcome Michael Hussey as Assistant Principal of Operations at Wilkinson County High School.

Originally from Jersey City, New Jersey, Mr. Hussey retired from the United States Marine Corps after an accomplished 26-year career before transitioning into education in 2015. His commitment to service has remained constant throughout every stage of his career, and today he continues that mission by serving students and families in Wilkinson County.

As a Wilkinson County resident, Mr. Hussey says he was excited for the opportunity to work in the district and give back to the community he now calls home. His passion for education stems from a simple desire: to continue serving others.

In his role as Assistant Principal of Operations, Mr. Hussey is committed to helping create a safe, supportive, and successful learning environment for students and staff. He believes effective leadership is built on being firm, fair, and consistent, while working alongside families and educators to help students succeed.

Grounded by his favorite scripture, "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me," Mr. Hussey approaches each day with gratitude and purpose. He shared that he feels honored and blessed to be part of the Wilkinson County Schools family and is excited about the opportunities the new school year will bring.
