After a successful year serving as Assistant Principal at Wilkinson County Elementary School, Felicia Batts is stepping into a new leadership role as Wilkinson County Schools' Director of Special Education.
Batts joined the Warrior Family last school year, where she quickly became known for fostering a positive school culture and building meaningful relationships with students, families, and staff. As she begins this next chapter, she brings both administrative leadership and extensive experience in special education to the District Office.
For Batts, every leadership decision begins with students.
She believes every child can learn when educators are intentional, strategic, and committed to meeting each student's individual needs. That belief has shaped her work throughout her career and continues to guide her as she transitions into district leadership.
As Director of Special Education, Batts looks forward to partnering with educators, families, and support staff to strengthen inclusive practices, encourage collaboration, and ensure students receive the individualized support they need to thrive.
"This role will be a new adventure and will sharpen my leadership skills," Batts shared as she reflected on the opportunity ahead.
She describes herself as compassionate, driven, and collaborativeβqualities that have defined her leadership and will continue to serve the district well in her new position.
Wilkinson County Schools is excited to welcome Felicia Batts into this important district leadership role and looks forward to the positive impact she will continue to make for students, families, and staff across Warrior Nation.
