SHBC Grand Opening Partners

Wilkinson County Schools proudly celebrated a major milestone this morning with the grand opening of the new Warrior Wellness Center, the district’s school-based health center located on the WCPES campus.

District leaders, community partners, staff, and students gathered for a ribbon-cutting ceremony to officially open the facility, marking the culmination of months of planning, collaboration, and shared vision focused on supporting the well-being of the entire Warrior community.

Superintendent Dr. Angela James opened the program with remarks highlighting the importance of expanding access to care for students and families. The ceremony also featured insights from key partners and stakeholders, including representatives from Community Health Care Systems, Inc. and the Georgia Department of Education.

Wilkinson County Schools extends sincere appreciation to Carla Belcher, Monique Howard, and the entire CHCS team for their partnership and commitment to making this initiative possible. The district also thanks Dr. Stephanie Johnson of the Georgia Department of Education for joining in this important moment and supporting the work being done to strengthen student services across the state.

The district would also like to recognize and thank the community committee members who played an integral role in the planning and coordination of this project. Their time, input, and collaboration were essential in bringing the Warrior Wellness Center from vision to reality.

The Warrior Wellness Center is designed to increase access to healthcare services for students, families, and staff, helping remove barriers and ensuring that every student is better equipped to learn, grow, and succeed.

As part of the celebration, the district recognized student creativity through a special art contest. The winning student designs were selected as the official logo inspiration for the Warrior Wellness Center. Congratulations to Joselyn Olivia and Ava Bryant, whose work will represent this important initiative moving forward.

Following the ceremony, attendees had the opportunity to tour the facility and learn more about the services that will be offered.
