Wilkinson County Schools will celebrate the grand opening of the Warrior Wellness Center on Tuesday, March 17 at 10:00 a.m. The event will mark an important step forward in expanding access to healthcare services for students and families in the community.
Located on the campus of Wilkinson County Elementary School, the Warrior Wellness Center is a school-based health clinic designed to provide convenient, high-quality medical services for students, staff, and family members living in a student’s household.
The center operates through a partnership with Community Health Care Systems, Inc., bringing experienced healthcare professionals directly into the school environment to support student wellness and academic success.
School leaders say the clinic will play a critical role in removing barriers to care that many families face.
“Access to care is a tremendous challenge for many of our families,” district leaders shared. “By bringing healthcare services directly to our campus, we are helping ensure that students receive the care they need so they can stay healthy, stay in school, and focus on learning.”
The Warrior Wellness Center will offer a wide range of services, including primary care, behavioral and mental health support, well-child checkups, immunizations, sports physicals, preventative care, and telehealth services.
When students become ill during the school day, they can visit the on-site clinic to receive prompt care from trained medical professionals. Early assessment and treatment help reduce missed instructional time while also limiting the spread of illness among students.
The clinic accepts most insurance plans, including Medicaid, Medicare, commercial insurance, and TRICARE. Discounts are also available for uninsured or underinsured patients to help ensure that no family is turned away from receiving care.
The community is invited to attend the grand opening ceremony on March 17 to learn more about the services available through the Warrior Wellness Center and celebrate this new resource for Wilkinson County families.
The clinic will operate Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Appointments can be scheduled by calling 478-249-2427.
With the addition of the Warrior Wellness Center, Wilkinson County Schools continues its commitment to supporting the whole child—ensuring students are healthy, supported, and ready to learn.
