Wilkinson County Schools operates under the Strategic Waiver School System model, authorized by O.C.G.A. §§ 20-2-80 through 20-2-84.2 and State Board of Education Rule 160-5-1-.33. This model provides our district with flexibility from specific Title 20 provisions and State Board rules, allowing us to implement innovative strategies tailored to our students' needs. Our SWSS contract spans six years and emphasizes increased accountability for student performance without requiring school-level governance.
