BHM WCSD Celebrations 2025

Wilkinson County Schools honored Black History Month this week with special programs and activities across the district, bringing students, staff, and the community together in celebration.

At Wilkinson County Elementary School, students participated in engaging their Annual Living Wax Museum that highlighted the contributions of African American leaders. Wilkinson County Middle School’s program featured student-led performances, poetry readings, and a tribute to Black history makers. Wilkinson County High School showcased student readings and performances that reflected on the impact of African Americans in shaping history.

We extend a heartfelt thank you to our special guests who shared their knowledge, stories, and talents with our students. We also appreciate the Wilkinson County Senior Citizen Center for joining us in celebration—your presence made this week even more meaningful!

These celebrations provided an opportunity for students to learn, reflect, and honor the legacy of Black history. Thank you to everyone who helped make this week a success!
