We are so excited to welcome students who are attending our annual WCHS PROM tomorrow evening! Prom—short for “promenade”—is a formal dance event held at the end of the school year, usually for high school juniors and seniors. The purpose of prom goes beyond just a dance:
1. Celebration of milestones It marks the near end of high school and celebrates students’ achievements and growth before graduation.
2. Social experience Prom gives students a chance to dress up, go with friends or a date, and enjoy a special night together outside the normal school setting.
3. Tradition It’s a long-standing cultural tradition in many schools, often including things like prom king and queen, themed decorations, and formal photos.
4. Memory-making For many, prom is one of those “once-in-a-lifetime” school events—something people remember for years.
5. Transition moment It symbolizes moving from adolescence toward adulthood, especially for seniors about to graduate and much more! It's very important to be safe and aware as well, please review the following PROM SAFETY TIPS! We look forward to seeing you tomorrow!

Last week, we celebrated with our 2025-2026 STAR Student, senior Ke'Shawn Hall.🎉
The STAR Student recognition is awarded to the senior with the highest SAT score at the school, who also ranks among the top of the graduating class, either in the top ten percent or among the top ten students based on grade point average. This honor also allows the student to recognize a teacher who has made a significant impact on their academic journey. Ke'Shawn selected Ms. Ericia Colbert to stand alongside him as the STAR Teacher.
Post-high school, Ke'Shawn will be attending Kennesaw State University as an Honors Biology Major on the pre-med track, with a minor in Sociology, to become a General Surgeon. Way to go, Ke'Shawn we are so proud of you! 💙💛 #WarriorPride #StarStudent #StudentSuccess #OneWilco

Today at Wilkinson County High School, we took a moment to show appreciation for the amazing educators who work hard for our students every day. 🍎
Mr. A. Brown and members of the FBLA Leadership Team went around the school delivering doughnuts to our teachers as a small token of gratitude. While today was a special gesture, here at Wilkinson County High School we strive to show appreciation to our teachers every day for the dedication, care, and effort they put into helping our students succeed.
A special thank you to the FBLA members who helped make this possible:
• President Lacey French
• Vice President Malik Fox
• FBLA Social Media Manager Honesty Evans
• FBLA Member Sydney Price
Thank you to our incredible teachers for everything you do for our school community! 💙💛

We started Friday with a SWEET SURPRISE! Special thanks to board member Ms. Leigh Scott for dropping in, showing kindness, and spreading joy. Ms. Scott took time to personally visit and congratulate Mr. J. Brown's Algebraic Concepts class for being our Green Dot Challenge winners!
The Green Dot challenge is a data-driven initiative in which students work to move subject standard indicators from red/yellow to green, signaling mastery on our Progress Learning platform. It promotes personalized learning, student accountability, and targeted practice by improving proficiency across grade-level assignments and assessments. Way to go, students, and thank you so much, Ms. Scott!

📚 Read Across America – Tuesday! 📚💚
Today’s theme was “Reading Helps You Grow!” 🌱 Students and staff wore green to symbolize growth as we continued celebrating Read Across America Week!
Not only did we have students actively reading, but we also had students presenting projects today! We even had two of our principals reading books to students, making today extra special and showing that literacy is important at every level.
Reading helps grow our minds, strengthen our skills, and prepare us for a bright future — and we are proud to see that growth happening across our district! 📖✨
