The purpose of the Finance Department is to enable the District to achieve and maintain a stable, long-term financial condition, to provide guidelines for the day-to-day planning and operations of the District's financial affairs, and to communicate the District's financial practices with stakeholders.
The Finance Department's mission is to accurately report the financial position and business activities of the Wilkinson County School District. Within the scope of this mission, our responsibility is to be service-oriented to all schools and departments while safeguarding the financial assets of the district. This responsibility requires that financial transactions adhere to system policies and procedures while still adhering to generally accepted accounting principles and rules established by the authoritative governing bodies.
