2022-2023 WCPS Dress Code

DRESS CODE

Although uniforms are not required, we do expect clothing to be appropriate for students. A detailed description of  items is below:

  • Spaghetti strap tops without undershirt are not permitted

  • Tank tops are not permitted

  • Shirts with offensive symbols or language may not be worn

  • Collared solid-color shirts are encouraged

  • Shirts must be the appropriate length with no midriff  showing

  • No sagging pants

  • Pants with holes may not be worn unless accompanied by a patch

  • Pants with offensive language or symbols may not be worn

  • Khaki pants, solid pants of any color, and jeans are encouraged

  • Shorts, skirts, and dresses must be the appropriate length and come to the knee

  • Slacks, shorts, capris, skirts, skorts, jumpers or dresses may be worn.

  • Leggings may be worn with skirts, dresses, or tunics.

  • Leggings may not be worn as slacks only with a short top.

Belt (optional)

Shoes

                                            

  • Solid color belts may be worn

  • Belts must be worn appropriately 

  • Buckles must be no larger than 2 inches in length or width.                                

                                                    

  • No Flip-flops or slides

 
  • 2 inch heel limit

 
  • Tennis shoes should be worn on PE days

Exceptions

Coats/Jackets/Sweaters/Sweatshirts

 
  • Fridays will be designated as Spirit/Dress Down Days

 
  • Hats are permitted on designated days.

 
  • No Overcoats or Trench Coats

 
  • No hoods from hoodies can be worn inside the school building. It must be removed upon entering.

ITEMS NOT ALLOWED                                                                                                

 Windpants, sweatpants, velour pants, oversized clothing, unhemmed clothing, clothing with cuts, slits, holes, or slashes, sleeveless shirts, overcoats, and trench coats. Hats are not allowed indoors. No facial jewelry. Earrings are allowed.

 

Pupils are expected to be clean and appropriately dressed for school. Dress and appearance must not present health or safety problems or cause disruption and should encourage a serious approach to school. The local principal will be the final authority for determining appropriate dress within the framework of the policy.
