Dress Code
Wilkinson County Elementary expects students to be clean and appropriately dressed for school. Dress and appearance must not present health or safety problems or cause disruptions, and should encourage a serious approach to school. The local principal will be the final authority for determining appropriate dress within the framework of the policy.
General Appearance

1. Students may not wear clothing that is too short or too tight.
2. Backs, bellies, or bottoms should not be visible.
3. Undergarments should not be visible.
4. Shorts, skirts, and dress lengths should be no more than 2 inches above the knee.
5. “Leggings” worn with a top covering the bottom area are allowed.
6. Shoes must be worn properly and laced or buckled at all times.
7. Pants with rips are allowed with tights worn underneath.
8. Hoodies are allowed. However, the hoods attached may not be worn in the building.

Slogans
|
1. Jewelry or body art with inappropriate slogans is not allowed.
2. Garments suggesting the following are not allowed:
- Racial slurs
- Racial insensitivity
- Racial discord
- Profanity
- Sexually suggestive language
- Violence
- Alcohol, tobacco, and/or drugs
- Gang affiliation or activity
